Abstract

The author predicts that all semiconductor-design and the return to special purpose computers will dominate the late seventies. Anticipated research areas include miniaturized interfaces and non-von-Neumann architectures to realize flexibility and failsafe operation. Communications and computing will integrate and remote control by local models will be an accepted technique.
